Shortcuts not being created in menu or on the desktop for certain games

Hiya

Running Kubuntu 12.04, but checked it on Unity and I'm getting the same problem. Noticed that for 3 games Darwinia, Uplink and The Journey Down, shortcuts should be placed in the K menu (or Dash for Unity) but aren't doing so..same when a desktop shortcut icon is requested. Checked around ~/.local/share/applications and all the .desktop entries are there for all, except those 3 games..and when I right click on the game entry in the library, it states that it can't create a desktop icon (and that there is probably one there already).

Checked all through /home and there is no applicable entry for those 3 games. I have messaged the devs, but I'm not seeing anyone else having this problem..so I'm not sure if this is something particular to my system.

All three games do work when launched from the library (and yes, I know setting up menu / desktop shortcuts is trivial..)

(For Kubuntu) You can found shortcuts in your desktop folder in your home directory.
