Half-Life 3 => Debut on Linux
HL3 should début on STEAM for Linux, or at least on the new STEAM Box (Linux Based).

Will not happen. It's a matter of national if not global security. You can't have Winows Fanboys rioting in the streets around the globe.

I'm hoping that Starcraft2: Heart of the Swarm will debut on Steam for Linux

Although I agree with you in general, it would be actually more helpful if you posted the actual link ;)

hold your hourses, hl3 will be released on all platforms with their new engine i garuntee it, no exclusivity though, thats just plain silly

its bound to happen, but valves still at a experimental stage, so nothing might show of it for the next year or 10

A timed linux exclusive for the steambox would be a good opportunity to give microsoft a taste of their own medicine - but yeah, probably won't happen.

I think they should release it a week or two earlier for linux that way that don't lose huge amounts of sales but they do get some people to try linux who wouldn't otherwise.

Yeah, actually. If they framed it as some kind of a promotion for a ‘preview’ or ‘public beta’ it might not go over badly. If instead of ‘Hey, Linux users, we love you the best’ (something stupid and wrong) the message was ‘Hey, Steam users, come see what we made for Linux – it's new, and we think we did a good job!’ (perfectly reasonable), I think that would be fine.

In fact, I would expect them to do something like that, although probably not so dramatic as an even briefly exclusive preview. They might give a free item for people who launch the game from Linux at least once, in celebration of their first brand-new Linux release or something.
