hey i kind of new to linux (been on and off for about 7 years) but have to say thank you steam :) its about time we had some people to get gaming into linux and am glad its this i installed it with no problems. am guessing i couldnt do the driver update due fact was a beta and been told there is a lot problems with getting drivers for gfx cards . anyway this is a tank you and this may keep me on linux for good when more games show up

Welcome. What distro are you currently using?
I'll post an easy guide to install Steam on openSUSE in a few hours.

The drivers updates are not restricted by Steam. What is your graphics card?

ooo it was easy to put on even for a me :) am useing mint it was the one best recommend and in past i have used many diffrent kinds from 'linux xp to ubuntu ' my gfx AMD Radeon HD 6670 .... if u could find them i will be chuffed to bits mate

There's the basic you need to install your drivers and Steam properly.

PS: On openSUSE I couldn't get the game to run yet, I'm working on it.

i got frozen synapse to work but not full screen :) have not try defcon yet there only 2 games i have bought that work on linux for now p.s cheers ill have a read
