Some Linux games are listed and some are not. Some installable, some not.
The following Linux catalog of games in the Steam Linux beta client are just some of the titles that have issues. There is a much larger Linux catalog that isn't even listed in "LINUX GAMES" in the Steam Linux client library.

Games in "LINUX GAMES" - run fine
* Amnesia: The Dark Descent
* Cogs
* Killing Floor
* Serious Sam 3: BFE
* Steel Storm: Burning Retribution
* Team Fortress 2
* Trine 2
* Uplink
* World of Goo

Games in "LINUX GAMES", cannot install
* Braid
* LIMBO
* Psyhonauts
* Splice
* VVVVVV

Games in "LINUX GAMES", installable but never launch
* And Yet It Moves
* Osmos
* Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP

Games in "LINUX GAMES", somewhat broken
* Space Pirates and Zombies - appears to play perfectly, no sound
* SpaceChem - listed, installs - Ask for administrative password?
* Uplink - First launch blank screen, appeared fix after second launch

I have plenty of other Linux games that aren't even listed in LINUX GAMES and aren't installable if I try. When will the catalog be a bit more complete, it's been a stagnant list for quite a long time now. I'd appreciate some kind of notice as to what is happening with our current library of somewhat unsupported Linux games.

I've got the same problem with non-installable games, all listed in the LINUX GAMES section:
* Braid
* Dwarfs?
* Limbo
* Penumbra Requiem
* Psychonauts
* Splice
* Walking Mars
With all of those, if I click on install, the install window does not display any space requirements.

However, all that install also play, Most noteably, Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP works. So that's likely not a steam-problem but something with your machine.

This is a driving reason why even the winter sales won't get me to buy stuff for myself. I have no idea what's really going to work with no clear sign what will work in the future.

SPAZ does have sound for me. Not sure why you don't.

only buy games from the linux section in the store. those should work. the others might be in the steam cdr but are not working yet.

This topic has been discussed on countless other threads. Do a search next time and post on one of those instead of making a new thread.
