How many of you are going to drop windows when steam gets better support?
I already did, have been waiting for better game support.

I have practically dropped Windows, I still have a Windows partition available for games that don't run well enough under Wine but now days I just can't be bothered to reboot.

There are enough old games running great with wine (to survive ;). I dropped it many many years ago.

My main machine has been clean for 2 years, have a laptop that runs windows 7 hooked up to my tv just for netflix.

And the better the steam support gets, and games support in general, the easier it is to resist to install windows for those games that just don't work that well i wine.

I dropped Windows years ago. 10 maybe? I dual-booted for a while until I got used to Linux. The last Windows OS I had on my computer was Windows 98.

Gaming wasn't as big of an impediment as was finding a suitable replacement for Quicken. I've been using KMyMoney for years now and haven't looked back. Once Firefox and Open/LibreOffice became every bit as good as anything you could get in Windows, there was no reason for me to stick around.

Already did too OP. Commited to linux gaming with maybe the occasional wine. But I definitely will not purchase any non native Linux games again.

I had Linux-only for several years, then when I bought my current laptop it came with Win7 pre-installed, so I kept it on b/c iTunes works best for my iPod (no, none of the open music players work as well with my iPod as iTunes, and yes, I still have an iPod, even though I don't like Apple and it's 2012). I only keep Win7 for iTunes. I don't even boot into Windows for gaming; I've decided I will *only* play games that have native Linux ports. I don't use wine anymore either. Once the open music players advance enough with podcast support (it really is terrible) then I'll 100% drop Windows and get that 80 gigs back.

With Steam and the announcement of Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition for Linux, I have no reason for said Operating System. ♥♥♥♥ you M$.

I'll just keep dual-booting for a while. There ate still plenty of games on Winderps that I like to play that probably won't work in wine. But I will be using Linux as my main OS.

I believe this question will be more interesting if asked in the forum where the window users are. We all here love the penguin so much that we inscribed in a beta to try out steam :)

Already did.
I have a Windows partition on my laptop, but I haven't booted it in months.

I will also drop Windows... I dont like Windows 8 at all. I am keeping Windows 7 as dual boot for now, purely for Steam Games!
Ashley 2012 年 12 月 12 日 上午 8:37
I'll be keeping 7 just for BF3.

... Steam games that don't run well under Linux or not at all. Otherwise that's just my opinion, as I boot into Windows for gaming only since about a year and do all my work/browsing/other stuff in Linux.
