Steam for Linux Appreciation Thread
Just finished an awesome game in Anomaly 2. Came here seeing people complaining about their problems. Okay well, anyone having no problem and just want to say thank you to Valve for making our Linux life so much more beautiful?

I certainly do. Thanks Valve! Sorry for playing too much World of Tanks lately!

Yep, quit Windows back when Steam for Linux was first released and sure there weren't many games, but I stuck it out and it's getting very very rewarding. Thanks Valve! I don't have to dual boot anymore

Everything is working great here, probably because I have a nvidia gtx 660 card.

I have 50 games on Steam for Linux now and they are all working great no matter what distro I am on. Usually I am on Arch Linux , but right now I am testing Ubuntu 13.04 and eveything works great here as well.

Today I purchased the Humble Double Fine Bundle ! , and Brutal Legend and the other games are working great !

I really have no complaints, I just cant wait for CS:GO to be ported over !

I found out years ago that NVidia is the way to go when playing on Linux. I hope AMD catches up soon - or rather puts more weight behind the open source driver development and makes that catch up with the quality and performance of the NVidia drivers. In That case I would prefer AMD cards in the future. For now - I make sure I get an NVidia card in my computers.

And yeah - Steam for Linux - I love it. I have already bought more games in the last 5 months than in the 5 years before that.

Nvidia 660M - everything works fine.

Yes, i appreciate valve's efforts.

I have a few games on linux and they work fine. I will buy some others when they will be ported like portal 1 and 2. I am not a big gamer. I do not buy windows games.

Thanks valve !

Yeah. Thanks Valve! Linux is usually the last operating system to be supported by any sort of proprietary software, so it's nice for an extremely popular application like Steam to be released for Linux. Now I only have to wait 3 minutes instead of 20 minutes for my OS to start up before I can play my favorite games!

Way to go supporting the open-source community!!! Keep up the good work!

Hopefully now other big software companies will follow suite with their own proprietary software!

Valve, I'm so grateful for all of your excellent work in supporting GNU/Linux! I was never into Steam before (using Linux exclusively for about two years), but I've bought so many games since! I plan to buy more! The landscape for available games is good and growing better! Thanks again!
