TF2 closes to desktop when connecting to server (Ubuntu)

Problem is quite simple. I got Xubuntu, got Steam. Got Counter-Strike 1.6 already working. I wanted to try out TF2 as well (it worked well on my Windows).

Well, I've downloaded it. It opens right. Then I try to play so it searches for servers, then connects to one - it all seems to be fine. But when connecting process is over ... well, then it closes to desktop. Sometimes I get the class-selection screen and then it crashes, sometimes not even that.

Any idea? I've tried different graphic drivers - still the same problem.

Having similar issue here. I can connect to a server get a few deaths in and then game studders for a few seconds then straight to desktop. Read suggestions of running with -nojoy same issue.
