This sounds very promising. It's good to see progress and hopefully some day the best parts of these experiments will be officially supported. Such as offering an RPM repository...

negativo17, Do you think you can submit to valve to add your repository as an alternative to the fedora people repository? The one that valve links to has been left in neglect for several months and does not property call up dependencies, resulting in very buggy outcomes within 64 bit machines. Your repo called correct deps and installed correct lib32 binaries as needed, resolving a long-standing sound failure as based on the severely outdated fedora people repo. (sorry to revive a dead discussion)

Steam is still not in rpm fusion?

Hello, I know that repository is not updated; actually it was ok when it was first created but it's now broken. How can Valve be notified of the change? Where can I contact them?

Previously my repository was hosted on fedorapeople.org; but since it wasn't free software they asked me to remove it. For now it's hosted there; I'm trying to push it into the RPMFusion repository but unfortunately the review is not yes finished:

https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2979

I'll post an update here when it's finished. You should simply receive a "new" steam as an update from rpmfusion instead of my own repository.

I can't find Valve's link to Spot's repository anymore. Can someone send it to me?

Thanks,

Ciao

Sorry, I was not clear enough; I meant the page on which Valve suggests users to go looking at that repository.

Negativo17: The package works well but i've since lost the steam systray icon? not sure if issue with your package or issue with steam upstream. Also, to possibly get the repo added to valves main page you may want to open a discussion on their git page stating the broken status of the fedorapeople repo and suggesting yours for review. That's probably an issue with Gnome 3.10.

Just to clear it up a little bit I am on KDE 4.11, not gnome 3.0

It's not a bug in KDE nor with Steam.
Either Fedora or the package.

Hello, thanks for the notification. I don't use the System tray icon so actually I did not notice it disappeared. The missing system tray icon was due to a missing requirement for "libappindicator".

I did not include it during the review for RPMFusion integration due to the fact that it cannot be evicted from the script that I run to get Requirements from Steam installed libraries; and also by the fact that there are no errors thrown out by steam if the library is missing.

All is solved now, just issue a yum update and you should have the updated Steam package.
