Help me, cs 1.6 dont start

i played cs 1.6 yesterday and evrything was fine. new day today and when i try to run game i get a steam error: cant start game please update this game first: Half-life, well the thing is idont have half-life..
plz help! :-)

Which os are you running?
It sounds like your steam installation is out of date tho, you might want to try reinstalling it.

after the new update i have to update steam allmost evryday..

Maybe it's a temporary bug.
