"Fez" to come to Linux on Steam!!
http://en.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1aj74m/i_am_phil_fish_cocreator_of_fez_ask_me_anything/

Phil Fish, co-creator of Fez, has announced that he will be putting Fez on the PC through Steam, starting with a Windows version and with Mac/Linux ports to follow:

"-FEZ is coming out on steam PC on may 1 -mac and linux versions to eventually follow -we're working with sony on bringing FEZ to PSN and VITA -and we're also working with OUYA on port for that -iOs also highly probable "

There will eventually be DRM-free versions through a Humble Bundle.

He didn't really confirm that.

Apparently, PC's are not for spreadsheets anymore. Bipolar and esquizofrenic ♥♥♥♥♥.
Anyway, the more games on linux, the better.

That's actually really cool, I've been wanting to play it.

It'd be nice, but it doesn't sound like a commitment.

Not hating, just saying don't get our hopes up unless it's definite :) Would love to see Fez on Steam, particularly at the same time it comes to Windows. To do so would pose the question to gamers, why go with the Windows version if I can just get the Linux one, on an OS that's arguably got less over-head, is cost-free, etc.

All he said was "we have plans! vague plans, but plans none the less. fez should eventually be out on pretty much everything." and he said it would be available through the humble store, which is not the same as humble bundle.

My dictionary tells me that "eventually" means: fact is sure, time is rather unsure.

I do not know if I want to support this behaviour.

That was back in 2011. I'm sure now he's thinking, "Holy ♥♥♥♥ I could make even MORE money."

That's the same douchey crap Gary of Gary's mod pulled, but he was more specific about directing his pissy-ness towards Linux users.

And now he's making a Linux version (so he says...where is it though!!!???).

Anyway, Team Meat is also a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s who don't care about Linux; at least Fish covers all three of the major OSes with a broad brush and doesn't single Linux out.

Whatever their reasoning, we have to respond positively to a developer's disinterest in developing games for Linux because calling them out to be jerks isn't going to encourage them. Instead, we can try to get our friends to use Linux for games, helping install the OS and setup Steam, while reminding devs kindly but earnestly that we would like Linux versions of their work.

Agreed, we should be encouraging every dev that does a Linux port. Regardless of comments made in the past. Making enemies of potential friends is a pointless endeavour.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this game - it looks pretty interesting but I was hardly going to buy a 360 for it (pphht! consoles are for media centres!)

I think the reason he gave as to why he changed his mind about a PC port was "Profit" - so yeah, you are pretty much spot on.
