I don't think this is actually new Info. Looks like they broke up other into the various Linux Bits.

Thay added more distros
"openSUSE 12.2 (x86_64)" 64 bit
"Fedora release 18 (Spherical Cow)" 64
"Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle)" 64 bit
"Gentoo Base System release 2.1" 64 b
"Arch Linux"
Seems that 64bit OSes dominate.

Interesting considering that "Other" was at about 0.5% all the time even before Linux Beta. I always thought this is just Wine (Mac/Linux).

Wine is counted as windows, other was just linux and older versions of mac and windows.

Many Linux gamers still use Wine for Steam.

I switch between Wine Steam and native Steam, when DotA 2 is made native I'll rarely use wine for it again.

Looks like they split up Other into all its components (probably so they could show the more accurate Linux share.) If you notice there are a lot of new entries like Windows 2000 and MacOS 10.7.3.

By the end of March I wouldn't be totally surprised if Linux edges out Mac users.Good news indeed.

The games that are available are solid, but until developers prioritize Steam for Linux as a target platform or at the very least, multiplatform between Linux and Steam, we should not be surprised by these numbers. At the moment I play a little on my Linux Big Picture box every day just to show Valve I'm interested. Any of the high-end games I play on my Windows machine still.
