How to reset Steam configuration on Linux
I've enabled the "start in big picture mode" setting and Steam won't start at all now.

I've unistalled steam and removed the entire ~/.Steam/ directory, then reinstalled it. It fixed the issue but it can hardly be consider 'a proper procedure'.

You should make a WARNING, THIS COMMAND WILL DELETE ALL YOUR GAMES INSTALLED, so... don't make that mistake like me, do a properly backup first.

Keeping your games in an external steam library is always a good idea to avoid this, and to avoid some bugs too. It also helps in case you decide to reinstall your OS, you just have to re-add the library instead of downloading everything again.
