So I have a Geforce 610M which runs perfectly on Win7, now I'm told that on ubuntu i need to install bumblebee and use optirun to run source games. I tried that but couldn't use the optirun command. Please help.

What version of Ubuntu are you using? If 13.10 then Bumblebee is in the official repositories.

1. Install primus
2. Please post the results of:

less /etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf

3. Which nvidia driver have you installed? To find out, type the following and output the results:

dpkg -l | grep NVIDIA | less
In the latest ubuntu version, nvidia introduced nvidia-prime, FINALLY by default it takes care of automaticly activating nvidia card when needed. That is some very very good news.

It is VERY NEW, haven't tried it, not using ubuntu, but will try it just because of nvidia-prime support

You're running 32-bit version of Ubuntu, why?
Long story, dind't want to reinstall everything.
So let's say i wanna optirun TF2, what should I do?

optirun %command%
through the launch options. Right click your game and use those options then. I still think you should use primus; install it and you can then do:

primusrun %command%

yeah right i got them both, but what %command% I use for tf2?

What? Just type
optirun %command%
%command% looks like some sort of exec key to me.
optirun %command%
/usr/bin/vglrun: 303: exec: %command%: not found

Noob.

He said to put it in "Set launch options..." for the particular game in Steam, not in the command line.
the game doesnt boot that way, however the game boots with just optirun or primusrun
Are u sure I should be typing this on the launch options?

Trying it would produce much faster results than waiting for an answer :)
