Low FPS of game trailer videos
Hi, I was wondeing if anybody else experienced the same thing:

When I play any game trailer video in the steam client (normal mode, not big-picture) the framerate of the video is noticeably lower than it should be (like 10 FPS) - as a reference videos I'm using trailers for Grid2. The same video played in Firefox or Konqueror is super-smooth. Now the biggest question mark is this: if I move the mouse with mouse pointer on the steam client window the video starts to be played super-smooth, when I stop moving the mouse the video FPS goes back to ~10. Also if I move the mouse with mouse pointer outside of client window the FPS does not raise.

In big-pictore mode the videos are played super-smoothly but this time the audio is choppy.
Anyone noticed such behavior? And if so is there any fix for that?

I'm running up-to-date Fedora 19 64-bit (KDE) with nvidia GTX 570 graphics (drivers from rpmfusion), Intel Core i7-2600

Nope, it runs just fine for me. My system setup is similar to yours:
F19 x86_64 fully updated, GTX760 proprietary driver, GNOME desktop, AMD FX6100 CPU
I used to have this issue on my old laptop

I figured it was because it was a 6 year old thing boasting a 2.8GHz Pentium 4, but I guess I'm wrong?
Hello again. Just for the heads-up - today's patch for the Linux Steam client ("Steam Client Beta Update - January 5th") has solved the issue I was complaining about originally.
Now the video trailers are being played super-smoothly the same as in Firefox or windows client.

Thank you Valve! :)
