Low Profile Graphics Card. HD7750 supported? or NVidia better?
Hello everyone. I'm going to build an mini-itx pc and I'm only able to use a "low profile" graphics card. I've seen 2 decent ones. The ATI HD7750 and the Zotac GeForce GTX 650.

I would like to buy the HD7750, but I often read that ATI Graphics Cards don't work so well.

Can you leave me a suggestion if the HD7750 would run fine enough without major problems or is the gtx 650 the way to go?

Thank you.

Definetly, the GTX 650 :D
nVidia's proprietary drivers are better, performance wise, than AMD's.
I'd say go with Nvidia since they are better supported under Linux.
OK thank you a lot. One question left, scince the gtx650 low profile is not really available in my country, is the gt640 enough for some light gaming like source engine games? I know that the performance is much worse than the gtx650, but it would be enough, right? Similar or a bit lower than the 7750. Thank you

I'd say, that 7750 a bit weak then 650, but 640 is more weak, then 7750... yeap, 640 is enough to source engine with low setting (even on FHD), but occasionally chopping frames is annoying.
You should to consider to buy 650 via amazon or ebay...

Agreed.
Here are some benchmarks for TF2, done with different nVidia cards:

I like to think I am an amd fan.

Phoronix is the place to check this.

The amd drivers have been improved allot of the last few months
Thank you for the answers. I know phoronix very well, and I was blinded by the framerates, but scince the driver support is still not as good as the NVidia one, I've choosen the NVidia GT640. I'll play my games in 720p only, so I think it'll be enough. If not, I can alway upgrade to the (in my country much more expensive) GTX650 Low Profile.
