Urban terror. Standalone quake 3 mod.
But there are lists for linux games, and steam for linux games.

* Anesia: The Dark Descent - pure horror
* Frozen Synapse - excellent strategy game
* World of Goo - excellent action puzzle game
* Metro: Last Light - hopefully excellent action game (didn't yet see much of it)

Not only steam is a resource:

linux installers for linux gamers --> http://liflg.org/

/~ravage/ --> http://icculus.org/~ravage/

and many other resources.

You can "import" the link to the games into steam.

You should install Desura and add the http://www.playdeb.net/ repository for DJL which has allot of free and shareware games for Linux as well. Many in the first set can be installed from either of those.

Dark Mod http://www.thedarkmod.com/
NAEV http://naev.org/
FlareRPG http://flarerpg.org/
OpenSonic http://opensnc.sourceforge.net/home/index.php
Sonic Robo Blast 2 http://www.srb2.org/
Zelda: Return Of The Hylian series http://www.zeldaroth.fr/us/

These are all on Steam.
Legend Of Grimrock http://store.steampowered.com/app/207170/
Dungeons Of Dredmor http://store.steampowered.com/app/98800/
Mark Of The Ninja http://store.steampowered.com/app/214560/
Penumbra Trilogy http://store.steampowered.com/app/22120/
Bastion http://store.steampowered.com/app/107100/
Thomas Was Alone http://store.steampowered.com/app/220780/'

Also keep an eye on http://www.gamingonlinux.com/sales/ , http://www.shinyloot.com/ and http://www.dealzon.com/ for companies setting steam keys for games that have been ported to Linux. Even if the site you are buying from only lists Windows you can still use the key to get the Linux version as Steam doesn't care what version the key was for, it will just install the port for your OS should it exist on the Steam store already.

Just install steam through Ubuntu Software Center or open terminal and type "sudo apt-get install ia32-libs" (without the quotes)
