Linux DualShock 4 Bluetooth driver has been released.
To any fellow DualShock 4 owners, or those thinking about getting one, there is now a bluetooth driver called "ds4drv" released by "chrippa". It's in early stages, but it's already quite functional.

The driver is Bluetooth only for now, but you can plug it in to charge once it's connected. Also, pairing does not work smoothly yet so you have to start the controller in pairing mode each time. On the plus side, it's already got a lot of awesome fetures. The touchpad can be used as a mouse, you can set the LED colors, and best of all you can emulate an xbox 360 controller for backwards compatibility.

The Github link is here:

It's still really new (just a few days old I think), but it's working perfectly for me on Arch (there is an AUR package already). Check out the github page for the ReadMe, which goes into most of the details and current limitations.

For those who - like me - were not sure:
"DualShock 4" is the controller that comes with the PlayStation 4.

Interesting... I may get a controller before I get the console as such :D

I don't own any current consoles, but I got a DualShock 4 to replace my wireless x360 controllers. The d-pads and analog sticks are much better IMO. Also, not having to use a wireless dongle is a plus, as most PCs have bluetooth. If not, they work over USB too.

This now comes with a systemd service file easy startup. It's also in the AUR for Arch users. Everyone else can install with the instructions on the github page.
