Steam for Linux

Steam for Linux

How to get notified that a given game is now available for Linux?
Is there a way to get notifications that game XYZ has been added a Linux support? Just like this one from RSS: http://store.steampowered.com/news/12118/ - but it is the only known example so far (for me at least). When games like Hero Academy or some time earlier Super Meat Boy got penguin icon on Steam, there was no news, no notification, they just silently popped up on my list in Linux Steam client.

In short: I would love to get notifications every time Linux support is added for a previously listed non-Linux game, is there a way to do it?

The wishlist is the feature Steam offers. It's a good feature as you can get mails when things are on sale.

The message you posted appeard in the standard news: http://store.steampowered.com/news/
But it is still not easy to get to know about games that already have been available for other platforms - and suddently pop up also in the Linux section.

Idk if it would be a wise idea to contact the Steam support about it? Maybe?

An external ressource is always http://steamdb.info/linux/

Some RSS-feeds would be very helpful indeed!
I think this would be a reasonable report to Valve. People would buy more games...

As long as Valve doesn't do it, we could do it ourselves:

I guess you could add the games to your wishlist and that would make it easier to check on it. Often times it says "hey x from your wishlist is on sale" would be cool if it also said "hey x is now available on the OS we detect you are running" but I don't know if it does..

For now, I don't even get such notifications for games I own, let alone games on my wishlist. The "game on your wishlist is on sale" also doesn't always work either.

But the real point is - currently I went through all the games that available for Linux, I bought some and I added some others to my wishlist - but I don't want to bother browsing through games w/o Linux support as I cannot play them anyway. So every time a game gets Linux support, I would like to get a note and check it out. As Zyro said, there is some money on the table that can be earned by adding this simple feature. :-)

Just got this in RSS: "Now Available on SteamOS - Wargame: Red Dragon"
I wonder if they'll now do that for every game getting a Linux port, or just for the "big" titles.
I didn't see any news about recent port of The Bridge for example.
i use this site http://www.gamingonlinux.com/ keep up on whats games coming to linux os
