Steam OS Optimus
I've been looking into it and I have not found a definitive answer on SteamOS and Nvidia Optimus support. I know Nvidia-prime has made a major update recently and I'm not sure if it's included. I guess that depends on what kernel it's running off. Has anyone tried it out or has some information before I go though the trouble of re-partitioning?

Steam OS is based on Debian Wheezy, and its Xorg server 1.12.x is too old to support PRIME offloading, making Bumblebee your only choice.

Too bad, hope they fix that up the road. It's a pain in the ♥♥♥ to get Bumblebee to work in Ubuntu with up to date drivers can't imagine what it's like in SteamOS

As long as you install drivers from repositories, it should work automatically; you may need to reinstall bumblebee-nvidia, but no other manual intervention should be required.

If not, you're welcome to open a bugreport at the Bumblebee issue tracker.

I have had to manually install the drivers to get full performance. Not too bad but I have to tweak a lot. Ah well.
