Terminal output from crashing game (Shadowrun Dragonfall)
Having a reoccurring problem with several games on Steam launching as a terminal window and then immediately closing down. I finally decided to try and launch steam from the terminal and record the output, this is what I get when starting one of these games (Dragonfall Directors Cut), can anyone make any sense of it?

have you tried to check with ldd if all library's are there which are needed?

Yep, first thing I did. A few were missing, which I downloaded, still the same result though.

Unfortunately there is nothing in that log related to the issue, except for "aborted", which is close to nothing. What happens if you run the game directly?

Simply a black window pops up, entitled Dragonfall, and then closes in about a second and a half. This is the terminal output:

paul@paul-Aspire-V3-571:~/.steam/steam/SteamApps/common/Shadowrun Dragonfall Director's Cut$ ./Dragonfall

After that, the window closes, and sends me back to the prompt:

paul@paul-Aspire-V3-571:~/.steam/steam/SteamApps/common/Shadowrun Dragonfall Director's Cut$

Naturally, with the controller unplugged, I get this:

Set current directory to /home/paul/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/Shadowrun Dragonfall Director's Cut

The only error I can see there is that it tries to open the controller (even if it's unplugged) and it has no permission to do it. I suggest contacting the developer, it might be a bug in the game, as it should skip the error, not halt the whole thing.

Yeah, already have. I just get a generic "troubleshooting" copy and paste reply, not the most customer friendly company. Ah well, I'll keep messing around and see what I can do.

The developer seems to be appearing in the game hub sometimes, so you should try there as well.
