Steam for linux : second windows open
hello

I don't know where to post this because there is a "'steam for windows" and a "steam for mac" but not a "steam for linux". So sometimes when I click on a link, instead of opening the link in the same window, it opens a new windows and I don't know how to fix this.

Moved.

There is a Steam for Linux forum, but it still hasn't been added to the main site as of yet.

Is it completely random? Some websites are deliberately designed to open links in new tabs/windows because their designers assumed that users are morons who don't know how to right click and hit Open In New Tab themselves.

yes this is random. It's usually on the steam forums using the steam client for linux.

That occasionally happens to me too (64-bit Ubuntu 12.04, GTX 550 Ti). Not sure if that is from accidentally pressing some key or accidentally highlighting something with the mouse, because when that happens (opens additional page instead of just following link), the page numbers at bottom of main forums start highlighting. My solution is simply to exit Steam and restart it.

My solution is to press F5 to refresh the main window.

I'm having the same problem on Debian 8

Yeah, that fixes it for me

I'll try that next time Steam starts bugging out on me

Edit:
Tried pressing F5 and it worked. Sure beats having to restart Steam. Thanks :)
