Manjaro kde x64 - amd - mesa git, how ?
I wanted to give a try to arch, i liked the stripped down version that run on my raspberry. But i'm too lazy on these day to do manual setup on my pc. I wanted to try manjaro, people seem happy of them. Just installed and i miss firefox installed, ok i search it on the repo. Only available version is firefox 28, wtf, i find some firefox with kde support on AUR (first time that i try aur), nice found one with the kde integration try to install it. Revelation... aur is source code only, omg, i don't want to spend age on downloading and compiling huge programs.

Little explanation, i don't like the binary amd driver for my 7970, but i need the 10.2 mesa stuff I want something decent.

Open konqueror and try to figure out how to install the mesa-git. I found a binary repo, aur can take soo much of my time on compilation. Add the repo on pacman.conf try to install the mesa-git. no luck, pacman say something about openGL.so already present on my system.

TLTR:
Someone know hot to install the full mesa-git binary stuff (mesa, llvm, ati driver, etcetc)
And really no ff 29 ?!?! Maybe this is only for the manjaro repo but leave me disappointed .

To be honest. Don't use Arch Linux derivates!

They all have their probems. If you like Arch then use just it. If you don't have the time, use Ubuntu, OpenSuse, Mint, Mageia or other popular distributions. Linux is Linux in the end it's not so important which package manager you use. Therefore, if you don't have the time there are plenty other distributions waiting for you.

SteamOS is Debian ... :)

Finally, made it work with
STEAM_RUNTIME=0 steam
Then it need a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of lib32 package, most disturbing the lib32-networkmanager only avaiable on aur.
I hope that those info can help other people.

I'd recommend any distro except Mint, and Ubuntu, those are two of the worst distros for anyone other than complete newbies IMO. Especially if he knows how to use Arch. Arch blows away Ubuntu and all its spinoffs.

As for Firefox, Manjaro has not released there next update pack yet, should be very soon. Same with Mesa, everything gets updated with big update packs in Manjaro usually every 1 to 3 weeks. You can choose which display drivers you want installed before you even install the OS.
