Do you have the 32 Bit driver files installed aswell?
I have ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bits and graphic driver also 64 bits version.
Did you manually install the driver or get it from a repository?

What blackout means is, if you installed it manually you need to select yes when it asks if you want to install the 32bit compatibility libraries. Steam and a lot of games are 32bit so you need 32bit compatibility on a 64bit machine.
I downloaded this form netex'73
http://www.netext73.pl/

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:netext/netext73
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install netext73

You don't really need to include additional repositories other than xorg edgers if you want. Installing the nvidia drivers from the official repository is better. Ubuntu 14.04 BETA is out, so maybe try that if you want the latest nvidia driver & kernel.
I can't read polish so I don't know what the netext repository adds to your system. Because I don't know what it's installing I can't really help you with it.

I'd recommend uninstalling whatever you installed and then removing the repository. Use one of these repositories to install the latest drivers instead:

https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa

or

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates

The stuff from the above repositories is known to work.

I don't see much point in adding the above repositories, since Ubuntu has the nvidia drivers you need. Debian, yes; but Ubuntu you're covered. :-P
The latest Nvidia drivers are 334.21. The drivers that the default Ubuntu repositories supply for 13.10 are 319.xx. I don't know what the default repos supply to 12.04, probably something even older. Adding x-swat or xorg-edgers is the only way he's going to get the latest drivers unless he upgrades his distro to 14.04 when it is finally released.

EDIT: Heh, I'm wrong apparently. Canonical supplies 331.20 to 12.04 and 14.04 but not anything inbetween:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-331

Seems strange that they'd only backport new graphics drivers to the LTS release.

Nvidia 334 may not be supported on all GPUs. Usually the updates can cover that, but in comparison the stable nvidia drivers (nvidia-319 or nvidia-331) are fine.
please see my solution on an ATI Radeon card. This should be a similar work around on Nvidia Cards:

Hope it helps you.
