Woah!

I bought the box for Windows, and AFAIR I didn't get a Steam key (thanks to their fine non-DRM policy), but I really appreciate that anyway!

Aye, it's awesome! Hopefully more AAA games will arrive on Linux.

Just write to CDProjekt, they will send you a Steam key :)

I'm very interested in this one. The windows version isn't optimized well and runs terribly even on strong gaming hardware. If we add the lower gaming performance linux has currently, I wonder if there will be any hardware capable of running the game.

What is your argument?

What he means is:

On Windows, this game runs like ♥♥♥♥. On Linux, where typically some a couple game ports run slower than their Windows counterparts, this game might be downright unplayable.

But that's just on the beta stages of the Linux port. After a couple of months if the devs work on it they can greatly optimize it. L4D 2 for example, after six months it had a better performance than the Windows counterpart.

Jumping to conclusions so early isn't the best way to forejudge this game. I'd wait a while.

Oh yes, of course. I was referring to the more unfortunate, non-Valve examples (Bastion, NS2, Killing Floor, etc.)

That's Valve. On the other hand, CD Projekt has never released a game that ran well even on windows. They could even f... up the Aurora engine to run badly.

It's different. VALVe usually releases innovative games with good graphics for the best performance. CD Projekt usually releases great games with innovative graphics at the cost of a really bad performance.

If this happens I'll explode with happiness.

How it runs, yeah well that will be interesting to see. I only played the start of TW2 some time back on Windows and yes, it wasn't a great performer.

Anyone know when they'll decrypt the binary/make it playable for us?
