I'll only buy games that run on Linux from now on
If you support this initiative, please post a comment. Let Valve see that I'm not the only one.

Yeah this is the only way. If the developers see that you buy the games anyway they have no incentive to change. Unless of course you are very confident that a port is coming and even then do not install and run the game until the linux version is download and runnable.

It's not the developers, I'm sure many would love to have their creation reach as many people as possible and that would mean supporting Linux, ideally. It is the publishers. The publishers only care about money (sure, that is the case with some devs as well). They do not care about who is buying the games or what other OS they may have, as much as they care about profit margins.

That said, I will certainly support this initiative, I will not personally buy any game unless it has a native, working, Linux version from now on.

I agree. The Humble Bundle folks, the game industry folks they work with, etc. are simply awesome. Amongst many other great ways they differ from traditional game sales they also often include a large number of games in each bundle that work on Linux.

I can't remember the last Windows-only game I bought on Steam. I'm trying to buy Linux-only titles.

That said, my impression is voting with your dollars is too ambiguous as a means of communicating with the company -- there are lots of alternative explanations for a drop in Windows game sales that some market analyst could make up which have just as much apparent plausibility (e.g. piracy).

I'm in too. The only exception that I made in a long time, is when was a sale on Witchers 1 and 2. And only because those games are freaking rock.

same here:

I am going to reduce the usage of windows more and more.
Armenek Feb 17 @ 4:39pm
I'm doing the same, only few exceptions for Windows games, for example previous titles of the same franchise which were launched for Windows but haven't been ported to GNU Linux.

Great basic attitude

Every time when I see commercial spot of Win I have to smile like a buddhist while having enlightenment. I can not speak Russian. However I would describe it in your langauge like this: ' смехотворный '.

i have chosen to only use linux so i will only be buying games on linux with the exception of the occasional used ps2 or gameboy advance game that i come across. Linux is fast simple and i get better performance in games than windows so why would i even want to use windows
