(x)Ubuntu can not restore backup
So I made some Backups on Windows and wanted to restore them here on my Linux. Well it works under Debian and Mint but not Xubuntu. I get the message that the game has been installed. But still I need to download the whole game. What went wrong? D:

Are you sure it's actually downloading and not just checking files? Being as stupid as Steam is, it still says downloading whatever it does.

I'm completely sure. I just restored Mark of the Ninja, and now steam says its downloading. While restoring I could see on other distros and windows the progress of restoring and on Ubuntu it said after a second that the installation is finished

I've had this happen a couple of times. I don't know what causes it - sometimes it will only need to do a partial download.

Maybe a missing library or something?

I've had similar problems with encrypted /home partitions, but my backup was actually just a copied folder.

Lol. Meanwhile it works. Also from my external drive (ntfs formated). I can only guess there was a Steam update. But now I'm glad it finally works like I wanted to :D
