No More Room in Hell
Hi guys, I'm using OpenSUSE 13.1 in an optimun notebook with Bumblebee properly configured to run 32 and 64 bits app through optirun. Steam's client is installed and I already can play Counter Strike Source just fine (so Bumblebee is indeed working). But the game "No More Room in Hell" (NMRIH) won't run. I added the usual optirun %command% to the launch options of NMRIH and when I click "PLAY", an image appears but a few seconds later the game closes suddenly. It won't make it even to the menu screen. I think optirun is being able to open this game, because a Gnome Extension I have tells me that Bumblebee is in use after I click PLAY. Terminal output after I click PLAY is in this link:

http://pastebin.com/ng505BE6

Has anyone ever been able to play it in OpenSUSE? What could possibly be wrong?

Why play it? It's a terrible game hahahaha :v
Just kidding.

Maybe you're right hahaha... Left4Dead 2 is a better game, right? And I can run it on Linux. But I would like to learn why isn't optirun working :(

You should ask this in the opensuse forums. There are far more capable people there, many computer experts :)
The best forum.

Oh, sorry for posting a duplicate then, I'll delete that old thread. It's strange, Steam's client said that thread was deleted.

The program 'hl2_linux' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
(Details: serial 802 error_code 3 request_code 15 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
pure virtual method called
terminate called without an active exception
....
/home/renatov/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/nmrih/sdk/hl2.sh: line 67: 6302 Segmentation fault ${GAME_DEBUGGER} "${GAMEROOT}"/${GAMEEXE} "$@"
That's the problem probably. What's your DE? Looks like RH doesn't like it.

Hi, what's DE and RH? What could I do to fix this error?

DE = Desktop Environment (KDE, XFCE, GNOME, LXDE etc).

My Desktop Environment is Gnome 3.

I don't know if it'll make any difference, but have you tried running Steam with optirun ('optirun steam' in terminal) and then launch the game?

Maybe it's a problem with Gnome libs, so using another DE might solve it. Maybe it's Nvidia's driver is not installed properly, or Steam can't find it.
Try to run glxinfo on bumblebee, does it show any errors? When crash occurs, what does it say in /var/log/Xorg.0.log?

I am able to play other linux games using steam and optirun. Additionally, primusrun and optirun increse FPS of both glxspeheres32/64 and glxgears. I guess Nvidia driver is working just fine. I changed "optirun %command%" to "primusrun %command" and the game worked. That's so strange. Why primusrun ran the game and optirun crashed?
