I'm not trying to start a flame war. So don't start. It has been about a year since I used gnome.
I was wondering what the reason behind steamos using gnome. The last time I used gnome the gtk api wasn't stable. It also used +600 mb of ram and required 3d acceleration to work. (gnome fall back isnt going to be there forever)
I got the impression gnome devs only wanted GTK3 to be used with Gnome. Every update seemed like it was build for that version of gnome and broke things.
I know its a console but file managers are important. Natilus isn't what it used to be. Even ubuntu is considering not using natilus because "features are being removed faster than they can be patched back in."
