When will CS:GO be ported to Linux?
Has Valve said something about it? Is there any official release note? Any rumors?

With WINE yeah but that raises a ton of potential issues.

If it helps I have a few friends who play the game on WINE and it works great for them, but they're on NVidia graphics so it's really a hit/miss type thing.

It is already ported but not released. People are optimizing Mesa for it.

And where did those people get it from? Or do they optimize blindly, without the game?

Valve is working with intel - so they got it from Valve.

Mesa is an open source OGL library that uses software rendering and works on every card. Like opengl32.dll in windows. Intel should have nothing to do with it.

Intel's drivers are open-source and included in Mesa.
ATI and nVidia provide their own GL.

Very laggily I think so.

You can run it in wine. Works okay, but not as fast.
