  1. The current font is very readable to me, but AFAIK I don't think you can (will report back if I find out otherwise).

  2. It should be the same (~) that works in Windows, however I have a friend who had an issue with trying to get the console to come up (I can't remember if it was just in Source games or both Source+GoldSrc) and he believed it was because he wasn't using the standard EN-US keyboard layout. He "fixed" the issue by adding
    bind = toggleconsole
which made his '=' key open the console.

  3. Did you turn vertical sync off and/or uncap/increase your FPS limit? Someone else here has reported an issue with mousehweel input with vsync turned off (that I can't say I experience but it does feel inconsistent), it might be that your framerate is too high (I know that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if it's the case but I didn't port it!). My only suggestion would be using
    fps_max 72
    or
    fps_max 60
    or somewhere in that threshold.

LOL play with 60 fps Umad bro? :D But you are right if you disable Vsynch there is a bugg with mousewheel

Here is the FONT http://s14.directupload.net/images/140619/udzzc7zy.png it looks just terrible.

Do you have FXAA enabled? Enabling it causes text to appear distorted. Increasing anti-aliasing may help your situation, but given the graphics of the screenshot I guess it gives more Reasons regarding your problem.

Not sure if you understood my suggestion, I was saying that since I believe the mwheel input is framerate dependant and was designed to be vsync'd you could restore that with no input lag by capping the framerate at 60FPS with fps_max command.

In that screenshot it looks like you're playing the game at a signifigantly lower resolution than your monitor's native and what the desktop is set to.
Assuming this is not out of preference, in the video tab of options, set your display mode to "widescreen" and resolution to 1920x1200 (judging by the resolution of that screenshot, I assume that's your native).

Everything should look noticably sharper, and the chat should be easier to read (since it's not being stretched), however your HUD might appear a lot smaller.
If the HUD size is an issue try lowering the resolution until you find a comfortable balance.

LOL, you have an expensive monitor that can do better than 60Hz and you play at 640x480? Umad bro?

How do you know it can do better than 60Hz?
We just know it's 16:10, which means it's old. :P (IIRC they don't manufacture 16:10 displays anymore)

So what's the point of having more frames if it can't display it?

So what's the point of having more frames if it can't display it?
Because networking is framerate dependant, every frame that's drawn is a packet sent from the client to the server. What's often confused/misunderstood in the CS community is that it doesn't matter as long as your framerate is higher than the server's tickrate, if you're playing at a LAN tournament then this is basically infinity, however when playing online the maximum tickrate you'll encounter will be 100ticks (this is by design I believe, this is also why you can't uncap your FPS passed 100 unless you set developer 1).
Back on the point, higher FPS will also mean faster polling of user input therefor less input lag (I can notice a big difference between an un-vsync'd 60FPS and 1,000FPS).

If your actual question is "why not use vsync" then the answer is obvious:
vsync has always been INFAMOUS for adding input lag. This has never been a hardware limitation as it happens at any framerate with any refresh rate, this is a side-effect due to the nature of how v-sync works.

Honestly, v-sync looks awesome (especially when not gaming), but CS is a game where things come down to the 10th of a second, and having it on will put you at an extreme disadvantage.
This is why I use fglrx versus RadeonDriver, I have found no means of actually disabling vsync.

tl;dr because input lag that's why

You mean like 4:3 UXGA monitors? Well, you can still get both everywhere, they simply don't target cheap-♥♥♥-mainstream anymore. (UXGA rocks!)

Not specifically, aspect ratio=/=resolution, just the width-to-height ratio of the resolution.
e.g.
  1. 1920x1440 - 4:3
  2. 1920x1080 - 16:9
  3. 1920x1200 - 16:10
The most common 16:10 resolution is/was 1680x1050.

I don't see how that would make the point invalid. Looking at some random retailer right now, there are still a lot more 1680x1050 screens on sale than 1920x1200 - "out of production" is still simply nonsense.

BTW: UXGA = 1600x1200. 1920x1440 would be pretty hard to find anywhere.

INfact if you play even if with 60Hz and vsynch on you feel the diffrence pretty hard there is is a hughe diffrence between vsynch on and off.... you feel if you have 100fps or 60 ....you cant recreate this to show people on a video....so if anyone know how to fix that mousewheelbugg with vxynch off i would appreciate suggestions. What he mean with FXXA enabled ? How can i see the Option fXAA? any thoughts?

Thanks for the clarification, they must've only stopped being produced here since there's no real reason to.
