Boost Dota 2 Performance Without Barely Any Visual Sacrifice
If you're finding that Dota 2 is running slightly on the sluggish side on your hardware, here are some settings adjustments that can get it performing more snappily.

I was getting what felt like 20 to 30 frames per second on the default recommended settings (pretty much everything on high). With these modifications, now it feels like 45 to 60 frames per second.

Even at 1080p on my nice big IPS monitor, I can hardly discern any reduction in the visual quality of the game at all. It's like I have a brand new graphics card.

I hope this helps.

It's a bit strange to assume that linux people won't find in-game graphics settings and aren't able to adjust them to achieve the best performance/quality ratio. You've just invented the wheel!

You're coming from console land, aren't you? :D

No, he came from the dota 2 forum, where the thread got turned into a horrible discussion with a guy flamming a lot of other threads

Thanks for the setting adjustments. You've saved me some time in experimenting with the video options
