Shooter like Call of Duty
I enjoyed many of the Call of Duty parts. Until Black Ops II, where I couldn't choose the server to use and met too many people not being able to behave.
Now that I've got no Windows anymore, what could I play on Linux to have some easy-going multiplayer team shooting action? (Team Fortress 2 for whatever reason didn't appeal.)

I second CS: Source, CS: GO is coming to linux though (in valve time) so if the improved graphics matter to you then you may want to wait for that. outside of those, the only thing I can think of is mods for Garrys Mod like Trouble in Terrorist Town. This will be much more easy-going than counter strike which people sometimes take very seriously, but it really depends on the server. :csgohelmet:

Thanks for your suggestions, but I really would like it more easy-going than (probably any) CS... :) Anybody tried Interstellar Marines yet?

TF2 is easygoing. Ish. I mean, the playerbase is mostly not super-serious and it's an easy game to pick up and immediately do fairly well at, because the penalty for dying isn't severe and the classes are designed like a massive game of rock-paper-scissors. But there's also a metric ton of information you're going to be bombarded with thanks to seven years of non-stop feature creep. You won't have to memorize all of it, but there's no indication what's important to know and what's not.

Killing Floor(a bit gory though), Sanctum 2, Natural Selection 2, CS: Source, OpenArena(not on Steam unfortunately) is fairly similar to Quake 3 Arena, L4D2.

I believe GMod Tower has a game mode that's kind of similiar to Call of Duty. However, it requires GMod, and it's basically just a mini-game; GMod tower being a bit like Second-Life.
