Borderlands on Linux: Need a little help
Hello guys. So I installed the first Borderlands game about a month ago and I have been rather unsuccessful with getting it to launch properly whenever I try to.
When launching the game, the resolution changes like it normally would on windows, but the game wont show up. All I can see is the top corner of my desktop and hear the intro in the background. I had no issues with launching BL2 (because that game is a linux game), but I cant play due to specs and what not. I am currently running BL1 with the latest version of Wine. If anyone could help me out by walking me through how to fix this or re install correctly that would be great! Thanks :steamhappy:

Try to put Wine in Virtual desktop mode with "winecfg" > Graphics > Emulate a virtual desktop (set your desktop res or lower).

Your issue sounds very much like the window is created, just outside of your viewport area (due to changed resolution) or the winow losing focus (or as some games do, start minimized) one way to "fix" this is to alt-tab so to select the .exe running, or you can try to "scroll" your viewport to try and find the game's window. I have no exprience with this particular title, but some other titles do so occastional behave like that (most notably on my system, BioShock 1)
