The steam store page simply wont load. I have tried waiting for 2 hours, with no effect. What makes this problem so difficulat is that it occurs when i try to run steam through playonlinux. I have also tried wine, with same results. Please help me.

Wine and PlayonLinux is for running Linux through Windows !!

You can't run, OR should NOT need to run PoL or Wine in Linux!

Don't be silly, or have I misread something?

Steam store and other such pages won't work in wine unless you put -no-cef-sandbox after Steam.exe.

You have that backwards. Wine or playonlinux are for running Windows programs in Linux. But there should be no need for that to run Steam or Steam games in Linux unless attempting to run a game that is available for Windows, but not Linux. The only thing I use playonlinux for is for the Windows only Steam game map editor (or testing such maps). But I never accessed the Steam store in Steam in playonlinux, so I did not know that required an extra launch option.

?

Just out of curiosity, ack0329, what is your first language? Your profile says you're from BC so I'll assume English... but it also says you're from Hongcouver so there's a good chance it isn't English

Steam for Linux client is currently slow. Slow as a turtle. I am getting annoyed.
Clicking on links the page takes forever if at all to load.

I was able to purchase yesterday, but it was really slow. However they forgot to thank me for my purchase, which they usually do with "Thank you for your Steam purchase!" emails.
