New to Linux need help setting up.
Hello, i'm trying to get into gaming on ubuntu as I get more fps on my games than on windows.
I'm having some issues setting things up.
Problem i'm having is some of my games have buggy textures like the skyboxes in gmod are messed up.

Mostly I think the graphical issues are comming from this graphics card drivers. I tried installing the nivida drivers but every time I do my resolutions is low and I can't change it and my other monitor is blank.

Yes, but it's usually much easier to diagnose problems when full system configuration is known. How have you installed these drivers, and what version they are?

Just did a fresh installation of ubuntu since the drivers failed and i'm not sure what the latest version of the nividia drivers are.

So you have an Nvidia GPU. Ubuntu usually has an old version of the Nvidia drivers. For solving this you just have to type the next codes in you terminal:

This is for adding a new repository that has the latest Nvidia drivers:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa -y
$ sudo apt-get update
Then type this for installing the latest version:
# install the latest version
$ sudo apt-get install nvidia-current
Once you are done with this it should update automatically from now on.

Okay, so from the offical Ubuntu repository? They are probably 331.38, assuming you don't have an legacy Nvidia card. Newest stable one is 340.32. I would recommend adding the xorg-edgers-ppa as they have the newest drivers usually quite fastly after release. Follow this guide for example: http://www.binarytides.com/install-nvidia-drivers-ubuntu-14-04/
ok i'll give this a try.

ok

Could you submit a screenshot or capture of this issue? Good screencapture tool would be for example http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2013/12/simple-screen-recorder-linux, and Ubuntu has integrated Screenshot application, take one with PrintScreen or search Screenshot from dash(or what ever it's called).

Ok when I get to the
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current
I get a System program problem detected
and in the terminal this is the error.

Also there is a red circle with a minus that says
An error occurred, please run package manager from the right click menu or apt-get in a terminal to see what is wrong. The error message was: 'Error: BrokenCount >0'. This usually means that your installed packages have unmet dependencies.
When I try to install the package it says it's broken.
