FAQ Age of Empires II: HD Edition Support Questions
b]When will I be able to FINALLY start playing AOEII: HD?
- The game will officially unlock for pre-purchasers on Steam at approximately 10AM Pacific time (GMT -7), April 5th, 2013.
- The game is also now available for pre-loading (updated 11:40am PST)

HELP!!!! I've pre-purchased the game, but it is not showing in my Steam Library - WHERE IS MY GAME!?
- Sometimes it takes a few hours for a game to show in the Steam library, so be patient. When you post in the AOEII:HD community hub, if you see a little mouse beside your name in your post, it means that Steam knows you have pre-purchases your copy.

- (You may have your library set to show only *installed* games, so check that if you still are not seeing the game after a few hours)

- If you pre-purchased the game and it does *not* appear in your library tomorrow after the unlock, please wait for a bit and check again. If nothing changes, please submit a ticket to *STEAM* as they are the only ones who can help you.

My launcher looks funny!
- If your launcher has turned into the hulk and burst out of the frame, don’t worry! This is actually a side effect of using a non-standard resolution DPI scaling on your system, and straightforward to fix. Just right click on your desktop and go to “screen resolution”. Click the text that says “Make text and other items larger or smaller” and select either 100% of 150%. It may require a quick system reboot, but you should see the launcher properly now. (If you prefer an oddball scaling, you can of course continue to use the launcher in hulk form & play the game.)

My mouse keeps sliding off my second screen when using multiple monitors!
- Under options, uncheck "fullscreen"
- hit alt + shift + enter

Captain, you need to first uncheck the fullscreen option, then hit the key combination.

I did uncheck the fullscreen option first. This is what it looks like when I take a prnt screen.

It's even worse in reality.

Yeah, unchecking Full Screen before hitting the key combination doesn't have any effect. Either way, it just full screens across both monitors in a really gross way.

The options I see right now are:
1) Not full screen. This is bad, because it is smaller and makes it so that I can shoot my mouse off of the screen in all 4 directions.
2) Full screen. This is bad, because I can shoot my mouse off in 1 direction (where my other monitor is)
3) Alt-Shift-Enter. This is the worst way possible, because it stretches across two screens, doesn't line up right, splits the action in half, etc.

+1 for truths

please kitty just constrain the mouse to game, whether its full screen or a window.

I know you guys have bigger fish to fry right now, yet this an important QoL issue.

They don't want to do that because it won't be today. They want to string us all along so they get more money. I am waiting for a few more hours then submitting my refund form to steam for faulty product. I am not going to pay for a premium for "nostalgia". Finished product's(how this is being advertised and sold on steam) don't exclude people who it clearly says it will allow to play. In other words it says XP can play this game on steam and yet XP can't yet, that's faulty product and blatant lying. We didn't buy this game to play a beta on a 14 year old game.

Personally, I 100% agree with your statement, but I can't just wait One hour just to pleadge a refund, I'll wait a week after the game is fully released. But if not, I'll be going on the same train as you.

The issue with waiting till later(specifically any time after today because then it will be "launched" which is laughable because how much do you want to bet XP users still won't be able to play?) is that it will be harder to get an actual refund from steam. Steam is bound by their ToC to give refunds on games that haven't hit their "launch date" yet. This is why I won't be waiting. Plus the CoH 2 pre-purchase beta hit this weekend and I picked buying AoE2HD over that. I have a feeling the CoH2 beta works better than this "finished" product. Very crappy and pathetic developing.

Alright, fair's fair. Just one last question, how will you ask for the refund?
