1 year later... performance still sucks...
Why have there been 0 improvements to gameplay... im talking about the games engine/core. You allow players up to 500 units but the game is unplayable when a few players reach around 100....

Not talking about network lagg here... but the game slows down, laggs, low fps due to the games coding.... When people with Quad core and high end rigs gets lag in a game "remastered" from the 90s... something is seriously wrong. Devs have any plans to stop making bs dlcs and actually fix the game or just wanna milk it as much as possible before everyone gives up on this?

I bought this game a year ago, and so far i see no improvements... dissapointed... big time!

so far... do not recommend this game to anyone, id say stay with ur original and run the "win 7 fixes", dont waste your money on something that adds 0 improvements.

In another year, "2 years later... performance still sucks..."

i.e., it's not going to be fixed. Abandon hope, all ye who enter here.

As long as incapable developers like Hidden Path and Skybox Labs will mess up this game there is no hope for us.

Indeed. Money grab like ESO will be... developers have 0 faith in their own skills or products anymore and just wanna grab as much money as they can before the ship sinks

Well, the only thing that is better with this vs running with win7 fix with the vanilla product is that you dont have to hassel with resultions and wierd colors (tho can be fixed). when it comes to performance, its not better than the "original" at all...

We're continuing to work on performance improvements, keep an eye out for future patches.

Its not playable if you wanna run the game with more than 100 units (in a match larger than 1v1) so no its not playable... not even close when they allow up to 500 units for freaking 8 players... How is that playable?

So could i (the original) but it feels like they either have not touched the network part of the game engine itself, and pumped up the units you are allowed to train/construct without doing anything about the performance of the engine and game itself, or they have messed it up somewhere.... (multiplayer).

I seriously doubt i will see any major improvements at this point, but one could hope... comon you lazy bum developers, suprise me!

1 year since the release and it is still NOT playable.

- Multiplayer is unplayable due to the lag. And please don't bring the stupid argument that this okay because they use P2P and that things are like they are. They are simply too stupid to replace the network code. Hiring some actually skilled developers would cost money, so that is not an option for them.

I have already done all the port forwarding crap and no it's not my internet connection.

And I think I don't have to tell you about the Out Of Sync issues that might kick you out of the game, after you've spent hours playing with your friends.

- Maps from the scenario editor are constantly crashing. Have they ever tested the addon before they released?

- Campaigns are buggy as hell, just look at the support forum

- Completely stupid AI

- After almost a year we finally have a version that has an acceptable FPS rate

I understand your frustration, and can assure you, the team is still hard at work to make sure everyone is enjoying the game. In the last few months, there have been lots of improvements and fixes put in - particularly for the OOS issues. In fact, the update that just went out today included several fixes for those campaign bugs.

As Ryz0n has posted in various other threads, it has been a big challenge working with the 14 year old code that is AOE II, and certain fixes take a lot longer than expected, so we definitely appreciate your patience!
