Age of Empires II: HD Edition – New Campaign

Last week we revealed that Age of Empires II: HD Edition was scheduled to continue receiving new content and patches. Here at Microsoft Studios, we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Forgotten Empires LLC to bring exciting new campaigns to The Forgotten Expansion, the first of which is available in game today. All of the upcoming campaigns will be available for free to AoF owners, so hop in and start playing!
(Please note this update will increment your game version to patch 3.3 and includes various localization and campaign bugfixes)

El Dorado:

Join Francisco Orellana and Gonzalo Pizarro on their quest to find El Dorado, the legendary Lost City of Gold, thought to be hidden somewhere in the vast Amazon rain forest. Will their quest along the Amazon River lead to lifelong prosperity? The El Dorado features four completely new campaign missions, a rich historical story, and new intro slide system.

Upcoming Content

Today we’re focused on providing some new and exciting content to owners of The Forgotten. Over the next several months, we have several new patches planned, as well as some additional content, new random map scripts (including some focusing around the Capture the Relic mode), improved AI, pathfinding improvements, and more.

Alfred the Alpaca!

It seemed fitting to have our community team member Alfred the Alpaca visit during our livestream on El Dorado. Alpaca's are native to South America, and quite....interesting creatures. Sadly the particular one we got is a bit of an intrusive alpaca, so those of you watching saw that Alfred frequently was interrupting our stream last week. After making a huge mess with our breakfast, he decided to have a little Alfred Show at the end while we were hunting down a vacuum.
