Age of Empires II: HD Edition is coming to Steam (Official)
As the title says AOE 2 HD is coming to Steam from the makers of CS: GO and Defense Grid. It is really awesome news. It will have Steamworks features as well.

Once of the first games ive played as a child, the nostalgia factor is huge. I still have the box with the CD, manual and fold out tech tree. I hope its just a graphical remake and just minor gameplay tweaks.

The game's what, nearly 15 years old?

Do some homework and you can pick it up for less than a fiver.

Crazy price.

Get a job or a better one if you're that poor, the price is fine and worth it. Anyways can't wait, I'm hoping Age of Mythology will come next and it be cool if LucasArts do the same for Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds in HD..that be so freaking sweet.

Seems like a cash grab, no thanks. Plus the original version works with windows 7...

HD remake, new multiplayer modes. It's not the exact same game, so its a resonable price.

Psst.. money isn't the issue. It's value for money that is the issue.

I'm pretty sure it's about the money, hell I remember when AoE3 went down to $10 usd, the poor were still complaining about a damn good deal so yeah, I'm going to go with them being poor and making little money on this one.

I could pre-purchase the game right now, if they would make a beta or something for pre-purchasers. But no need to hurry right now.

I guess most people prefer buying deteriorating CDs.

Sorry Bill gates, when you move out of your parents basement and have real world finances to worry about, you'll be more selective and would want more value for the money you're spending.

Oohh, see what I did there? Implying you still live with your parents and have no money matters to attend to.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, it's not a matter of being able to afford it or not. I can, a few times over right now if I wanted to, but that's very much beside the point.

But for a nearly 15 year old game, a spit polish and Steam integration don't really justify the price when it can be picked up for a third of it elsewhere.

I already have the game on disc, so it was never on the books for me to get anyway, and if anyone is, more power to you, but that really is an extortionate price.

A tenner might have been pushing it(15USD), but it'd have been a more reasonable price, to be sure.

:)
