NOT ONLINE MULTIPLAYER
TERRIBLE. JUST TERRIBLE. What has this world come to when Monopoly can't be played online? On Steam, an online service? I want my money back and I recommend nobody buys this game until they bring it up to date, forget the 'CLASSIC' features.

Says it on the store page. Local. They're not deceiving you.

lol, that is why I read the description :P

I purchased this game on the day it released and that line was not there. I am absolutely sure because I read the description multiple times. I was looking for something that either confirmed or denied online support. The description seemed ambiguous so I went by the label "multiplayer" which always includes online support. If it was local only, it should at least list "singleplayer" or "local co-op". I imagine that Steam has recieved a huge number of complaints, and so added the warning sometime since release.

Edit: I see they have changed the game modes listed to reflect the reality. It now reads "Singleplayer" and "Local Co-op". As mentioned before on release day the only one listed was "Multiplayer". This confirms that Steam has touched up the store page since release.

As with List, I can also confirm that the description on Monopoly has been changed. When myself and three friends purchased it, we read it as multiplayer and bought it because of this. Five of us can't be wrong.

Yep, it said 'multiplayer'. I still blame you for not doing further research (like looking at the discussion board) on the game you purchased, though.

Well, glad I came here before I bought it. Feel sorry the people that did.

It's correct you should have done a bit of research before buying, But when a game that is multiplayer focused is released on an online retailer, you would just assume you would be able to play online.

Sad news, was looking forward to purchasing this for me and friends.

When I bought this game, neither forums nor the game hub were online yet. I have requested a refund politely, and hope they give it to me. I've bought dozens of games and been a member for more than 8 years, and never have I come across something like this.

Here is what you guys all want. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:kTTaN0vhYhsJ:store.steampowered.com/app/221300/+&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=au The google cache that shows this was indeed a multiplayer game, before they changed the page. They refused my friends refund request after changing the page. Hopefully now you guys can get your refund.

Who releases a game like this with no multiplayer support. I couldn't justify buying this without that feature since if I was going to play this with friends 'locally' we would just use the actual board game.
