Why was it snowing?
Really...Why? Is it because everyone had a little inferno entertainment fireplace before it started snowing, and then all the smoke produced continual snowing, wich caused people to make even more smoke, and so on and so on? I think this is the only logical explanation...or just...without explanation simply for the story? Really please tell me your opinion.

Tomorrow Corp. covered the city in artificial snowfall with that huge machine with that they could move around clouds and cool down the air (it's located behinde the big tower, so you can't ever see it).

They did it to create the need for "warm" so they could make huge $$$ by selling their fireplaces and all the toys to burn to ultimately be able to finance building that huge rocket the fat lady goes off with once the effect was irreversible due to all the dust and ashes in the air.

So basically it all comes down to marketing and not caring about the planet.

don't ever try to find logic in any game.

Are you serious? Or are you just saying BS ? How do you know that "huge machine you cant ever see" is causing all this? And its made by them? Dont say things like this if you dont have concrete evidence.

Neither.
My overactive imagination just made it up.

I doubt you'll ever find an "official" answer to that.

It's most likely a metaphor of some kind, but I can't figure it out.
MustardJeep Nov 11, 2013 @ 1:38am
You can go as meta as you like for why it is snowing but it is never spelled out by the devs.

Personally I like the meta of the adults like in real life are slaving away in a unsustainable industry/consumer enviroment. This is shown by children left alone with questionable toys, and the overall vibe of ice age or at least a killer winter. It is further shown by the kids buying into the consumer enviroment by sending endless amounts of cash in micro transactions to purchase more stuff to burn.....with the friendly mailman.

The reward of course that makes the game less then tradgic is that glimmer of heading off to "somewhere" once you actually make a human connection.

But frankly it's just a decent game to play with matches in, and it rocks on a touch screen.

I thought they can not control the weather. They build the rocket because she had achieved all there was to achieve on earth, and to flee to the sun like everyone is doing?

I also thought it was snowing because being obsessed with things make the world look gloom. The more obsessed you are the more gloomy the world starts to appear. It's snowing because the character perceives the world of snowing.

I guess I just contradicted myself :P

I read in an article that one of the devs said the person was on the right track. What was the track, you say? Just before an apocalypse.

The point of the game, IS TO BURN, NOT LOGIC

What link is there between the two? I have seen the ending and it in no way explains why there was so much smoke.

Well, the snow is from World Of Goo, and that makes it cold so people use their little inferno entertainment fireplaces to become warm which leads to loads of smoke (I havent played world of goo for a while so im not 100% sure)
kashmir_1967 Dec 29, 2013 @ 4:20am
I have not played World of Goo, but I have read that is related with it.
The Ax-Man Dec 29, 2013 @ 11:58pm
All of this just makes me want to play World of Goo now... guess I should start that up.
