Can we get the DayZ mod HUD back?
I get really annoyed of it saying "You feel thirsty";"You feel hungry";"My stomach grumbles". I really want the DayZ Mod HUD back. Just better than the DayZ Mod HUD. The DayZ mod HUD does not show you the accurate Hunger and how thirsty you are. If you do Add this back... Please make it more accurate. :)

I don't think that this will be back anytime soon. It was taken out for a reason, and even though it was nice and I liked having them, being able to see those stats at any time doesn't fit with the game. If anything, hopefully the messages will give you a better idea of what's going on in the future, but the days of HUD are over for good.

Accurate messages would be a great start

"I am starving to death" is pretty accurate

At first I missed the HUD icons from the mod too, however, I have noticed icons for thirst, hunger, and bleeding (just rectangle boxes with words) appear in your inventory screen, to the right of your character model. Thirst and hunger first appear in orange or yellow and then turn red if ignored. I think these are sufficient in addition to the words on screen, and I have actually started to really like no icons on the gameplay screen. I think it really adds to the immersion of the game that way. Sorry, but I like the change.

My Stomach Grumbles can mean both your hungry, and your dying from sickness if I remember correctly.

Dean has mentioned that the indications we see now are just place holders, and it will be replaced with something else when they come up with a good idea.

They should add sounds instead of spamming text all the time. Clearing throat is a sign of thirst, grumbles in your stomach from hunger etc.

I agree. I think on the official DayZ game forums they said that these status messages are placeholder until they get a better UI in palce for them. This is a bare-bones alpha. It will not have the bells and whisltes the mod had until they're added in.

Im just saying in cut down smaller parts is : I get really annoyed of it saying "You feel thirsty";"You feel hungry";"My stomach grumbles". The DayZ mod HUD does not show you the accurate Hunger and how thirsty you are. I am not saying the one used right now is not accurate im saying the old one is not accurate. And if the dev can make a vote on it, Keep the current one or Bring the old one back would be good enough.

And the colored boxes in your inventory were only added a while after the release due to the insufferable amount of complaints, on top of Rocket being fully aware of how bad the text prompts are. The end-goal is to have no HUD, and no textual indicators whatsoever. (No icons, either.)

Hell. Yes.

Finally, a minimalist developer. So sick of colour-frenzied games where you have an indicator for your friends' location, and a marker for spotted enemies, and a mini-map, and a futuristic HUD showing your cooldowns, and a menu bar, and whatevs.

The text might be annoying, but if you're well fed it's gone for quite a while. A decrease in repetition of messages and it'll already be mint.
