Optimization for AMD FX series CPUs?
So, I´ve bought this game since I´ve planned to after I´ve heard that a Standalone version would be released.

While I do know that it´s early access, in other words, alpha or beta or whatever you want to call it, well, no finished, I don´t understand why the developers just won´t optimize it for AMD FX series CPUs.

I mean, do you hate AMD folks or what´s the problem here?
Same problems we´re experiencing in the DayZ Mod for Arma II.

I thought that when you decide to release a Standalone version, in other words, a full game, you could also optimize it for these CPUs with their unique architecture.
Currently this game only runs well on Intel platforms but barely on AMD.
Most AMD FX owners know how their CPUs are designed and working so they know that in order to unleash their full potential / performance the app / game has to be optimized for this different Core architecture.

Look, even greedy EA lets Dice optimize Battlefield 3 and 4 for this CPU series. It´s not just some marketing BS. It´s actually true. I´ve experienced it. BF3 and BF4 run very well on my AMD FX-6300.

Yet you guys don´t. What´s the reason? Is your your lack of knowledge, or maybe you just don´t want to because fkc AMD?

I don´t know what the problem is but if you want to make sure that people can actually enjoy your game, thus increase the chances of it becomming more known / famous and being recommended, you ought to make sure that it runs well on both platforms.

Don´t forget that more and more gamers are converting to AMD since almost all gaming consoles are now using AMD hardware.
So games will be optimized for it and you don´t want to miss out on that chance or people will just stay away from your game fearing that it won´t be enjoyable anyway due to bad optimization.

I know that optimization should be done at the very end, when the game´s finished but I am just curious whether you even have plans to do it.

I've had the same issue with my AMD FX 6100.
I fixed it buying an Intel CPU.

So you´ve converted to Intel because of one game? ...

Also, this thread was directed at the developers because I´d like to get an official pinned reply / post on this issue.
I just want to know whether they´ve even got plans on optimizing it for AMD FX CPUs or not. If not then they could just make an official statement on the forums and safe AMD FX owners lot of time ... .

I have a fx6100 and will be getting a new intel cpu next month screw amd for having weak single core performance. I struggle with way to many games to keep this amd cpu any longer.

Nope.
Because of Serious Sam 3, Deus Ex HR, Arma 3, DayZ etc etc....Basically AMD CPUs freaking sucks, I'll never buy another again !

Once again, look at Dice´s example with Battlefield 3 and 4. It´s possible to optimize games for this architecture and they will run very well on those CPUs.

I guess that either developers are to lazy, too bad or maybe even paid by Intel to not work on such optimization.

Worst part is though that folks like you decide to switch to Intel instead of demanding a fix.

The amd bulldozer series (which is FX) was never a gaming Cpu. They perform good in Editing Videos, but they dont perform that well in Games. My Amd Fx 6100 struggles very hard! at bf4 on low settings because without Oc you reach the 100% instantly. Im going for an I5 , maybe an I7 in the next months which will perform way better in terms of gaming.

This is it.
Iv have(son)BF3/4 that runs with problem on AMDs
The cpus that we have had for both games are AMD Phenom II X4 955 FX6100 FX8150 and FX 8350
With HD 5700 HD6790 HD 6850x2 HD7950 and a crap GT630
And no problems, even Crysis NO problems
The Arma engine on the other hand, nothing but low fps

A friend of mine runs an AMD FX-6300 with a GTX 780 2 Gb GDDR5. he´s playing at max settings 1080p and his CPU usage is @ 80%.
NOTE: He didn´t OC his CPU.
I, for example, have even turned off Turbo. Mine runs @ 3,5 GHz max and still give me great performance, just not in this game ... .

Like I´ve said in another thread, the Bulldozer CPU series sucks, Piledriver however is a huge improvement.
Get yourself any of the Piledriver FX CPU and you will see the difference.

Here´s a list of all Piledriver based FX CPUs:

AMD FX-4300
AMD FX-4350
AMD FX-6300
AMD FX-6350
AMD FX-8320
AMD FX-8350

Whatever you do, don´t get the following CPUs.

AMD FX-4100
AMD FX-4130
AMD FX-4170
AMD FX-6100
AMD FX-6200
AMD FX-8100
AMD FX-8120
AMD FX-8150

BF3 & 4 are DX11 games so can make use of multiple threads.
Day-Z is DX9 so cant. Nothing to do with optimization, its to so with the game engine used.

Unless they moved the whole game to an entirely new engine with DX11 i doubt there is much room for performance optimization for CPU with weak single thread performance.

Still DX9. And you´re sure that this is the cause for bad performance?

Well, then they better change that. Well, definetely won´t recommend this game so far. It just sucks. Can´t even enjoy it that way.

Way to go devs.

DX9 cant make use of multiple threads/cores.
If you google for settings you can get the game running quite well. I have it running at over 60 fps in most places dropping to around 40 at lowest. Using an old i7 930 and GTX480SLi.

One core would be at 60% and the others at 5%
Iv had all cores on OSD on the Arma engines and that's what happening.

So, how many cores can this game utilize? 4?
