ID games has always made games that surpass anything at the time for one reason or another. Doom pushed the line on what games were ok to do by adding severed heads or random sums of gore. Wolfenstein pushed the lines of racisim. Quake the original one pushed reality, for back in the day anyways. Quake 4 continues the story of Quake 2 from way back in the day and even explains what happened(if you pay attention) and throws a TON of new curves in. The war against the Strogg is far from over but with their tech in the hands of humans their might be a way to win. Tanks, turrets and tons of guns + modifications given by friendly NPC and one major upgrade given by the enemies makes the game fun. The story is gripping and REALLY well told, more than worth the money. It can be pretty difficult and although it has it's bugs it was also one of the top shooters of it's time. The enemeis were creepy, the landscapes and facilities unique and the weapons a blast to play with. The multiplayer was challanging and truthfully this game is SO worth it.
