Residenvt Evil 6 Benchmark Tool
Well, saw the tool, free, got it, looks nice. I score in the 7400's all maxxed out or with no AA, I am CPU limited (C2Q Q6600 @ 3.4ghz/HD7850). The HD7850 tears it up at the res I can use (1600x1200 max @ 75hz, yes, CRT... super clear, sorry, can't break a 10 year habit). 1600x1200 is really not all that much less than some of the "higher" widescreen resolutions you see talked of. Anyways.... here's my questions.

Is this game DX9,10, or 11? The benchmark only runs 32-bit DX9.0c. I was highly disappointed about that. If the game is DX9.0c, it's a no go for me.

DX9.

No way.... Being 2013 and it's a DX9 only game? Please tell me you are joking.

I mean, that's a make it or break it point for me. I mean, I'd love to have full co-op campaign, but if this is all the graphics I get for that price, this day and age, of 64-bit games and DX11 tessellation textures and lighting.... hell no. They got lazy.

It is DX9 - no joking. And CAPCOM isn't known for its stunning graphics. Despite the fact that it uses DX9 only, I think the graphics of RE6, however, is still better than RE5 at least. And in my opinion, "not using DX11" is not enough of a point to not buy this game. After all, graphics is not everything. It is still acceptable to me in general.

I'm not disagreeing. Just remember, we all play for different reasons. When I was 5-24 years old, it was all about the game play. At age 27, 28 next month, I don't get that "fun" feeling unless the graphics are BEAUTIFUL and I know it's pushing my hardware/using what I have.

So, yes, that's why I say that, and you are right, a game isn't all about the graphics (to some people), but to the few odd ones like me, it's ALL about the graphics. It's just a tweak-freak kind of thing. I'm an OC'er. I tweak everything on my PC all the time. All I wanna see is good performance and beautiful graphics.

You are right, it's not like the graphics are terrible, but I was hardly using any of my 4 cores, it was maxing out my GPU (HD7850), and looked "decent". Nothing astounding, but not bad at all.

Yeah, I respect everyone's choice. :) I personally just can't stand polygon-like (crude) models. So if the game isn't polygon-like or has blurred/low-quality textures which undermine overall realism of the game, then I normally would still accept it. (Though I do realize there are also people who have much higher standards about games than mine.) It's true that, for a game to be able to immerse players into its story and/or gameplay, beautiful graphics usually plays an important role. I guess RE6 might be far from that in this respect. :P
I was disappointed about RE6 not using the latest DirectX features too. But anyway, I can't change this fact, so I can only move on. :)
