Thanks for listing this finally. Your game has alot of potential. I hope you do right by the steam community and list the demo in the store along with a note that this is not a final release of the game.

We are going to try and get the demo up. However steam staff apparently don't work weekends... :(

Thanks for the demo, I'm interested in it but not sure if it's for me or not yet so this is a great help.

Downloading now (FYI, clicking your link takes me to a 404, I had to type it manually). I was about to download Evil Genius when I saw this, fingers crossed... :)

I don't see why playing the demo would help. It seems people are having problems all throught the full game.

Also your hyperlink is broken. Do you guys check anything before you put it on Steam?

Cool, thanks for the demo link

If you had put "TRY THE DEMO, UNFINISHED GAME" on the Steam page where you are robbing people without telling them about it being unfinished, then I would say good on you. Half the people coming to the Game Hub already bought your game and are looking for answers.

So I played the demo's tutorials and I like it. Thanks for adding the demo, it helped me with my decision.

Sometimes using your own brain helps a bit Brasolis. Before I buy a game, I check out any reviews or previews, and the developer's website for more information. There is an old saying "look before you leap". People should follow that rule before blaming others for their own bad judgement.

Ok, I've played the demo a few times now and my verdict (for what it's worth):
You need a manual/some form of instructions, there is a lot that looks like it would be great if I knew how to make it work (soldiers, I bet you can move them manually without using patrol, but how?)
£10 is also too much, I would snap this up at a fiver, but at the moment I'm not prepared to risk a tenner (well, £8 on sale) on what seems to be a game I will spend hours playing without realising there is a better way to do something, plus it seems it is unreliable, especially on 7 64bit.

Drop it to a fiver, please!

Although I will completely agree with you that it was definitely my fault for taking a leap before looking, that is aside from the point. Steam should be treated no differently from a retail store. The problem I see is that if I walked into an EBGames or Walmart or WHEREVER and they had this game on a shelf for sale and the box had no mention of it not even being complete, people who bought it would be in an uproar. Regardless of the game being good/bad/playable or whatever your critisisms may be, the core issue is that I should not be able to purchase this without seeing that it is even incomplete. As is, you are misleading consumers. Think of it this way, the developer made a concious descision when setting up their Steam store page to NOT include that information. If you bought the game and love it, you were still misled.

You ignored half the post you're responding to. Why is nothing said about updating the steam store page to make sure to say that this game is sitll in alpha?

Playing the demo for the 2nd time today, and I am liking it. Here are a few things that you should take care of. Categorizing them as something that can be done quickly, and some that may take more time.

Quick Hacks:
- Make sure that all screens can be closed with 'esc'. Its a small thing, but right now it is irritating.
- Add more information to the popups. e.g. when making an oven as a noob, it takes me time to figure out what kind of base it has to be built on. Also, maybe add icons to the required materials like wood, iron ? That will make it easier to figure out.
- notifications should be on screen instead of behind flashing icons. e.g. my units were fighting some spiders but I did not realize it. Or when I try to put in something whose dependency is not yet there, it all is hidden.
- put the thought icons above the heads. I don't know why they are below the people. Also, put some helpful text about the current state. e.g. I do not know if the zzz means that the person needs a bed or what ?

May take time:
- Rotation : sometimes I cannot see where the ladders are. Being able to rotate will be a big advantage.
- User Interface needs a major upheavel. The menus are all over the place and going back is a pain as the <- button keeps changing location. So, please look at the interface.
- Please put in unit animation. So far it looks like the population is humping the trees etc. This one change will make a major difference in the enjoyability of the game.
- Tutorials need to have steps instead of one big blob of text. Break them into chunks and tick them off on the screen. Also, objectives should show up on the screen e.g. "Killed 3/10 spiders".

Looking forward to a more playable version of the game so that i can play it with my kid. He already loves playing minecraft with me (he is 3 yrs old).
