Repopulating Idea
Anybody else think two civilians should be able to marry and have kids?

That would require the game to consitently go for an ideal 1:1 ratio of male to female townies. Also, they would have to do programming for a child and what not, including aging for the children. If they were fully grown when they were born then the immigration way is much better...except for when they immigrate from the other side of the map and aggro onto a yeti or something, then it's just a pain lol.

Which is exactly why I hate immagrants, and that leads me to my next idea. I think that citizens should run away in fear unless they are stronger. They don't just walk into a battle. Unless they have enough citizens to take an enemy down. It's so annoying.

What's worse is how long it takes the "guard" soldiers to react to a townie being attacked then by the time they show up to help the townie is dead the the soldiers proceed to kill like 4 froggies and die too. Personally I think that townies should run first and only fight if they have to. Soldiers should have an AI similar to heros where they will fight untill they are below a certain hp then they run. Fortunately for us though the game is still being updated so we may see better AI.

I can agree with all of that but I find myself curious as to what you're doing that leads to a scenario where your guards can kill 4 froggies and still somehow die. In my experience, froggies aren't typically in very large groups. The most my townies have ever had to fight at once was 2, though there have been times where they would wander into range of another one after the fight.

I've forgotten to disable bones on stockpiles and a froggie will die via plant in the middle of a piece of jungle and I was using the froggies as an example, brownies would have been a better example I suppose. Generally what I do is find a clear spot somewhere "safe" and wait for heros to clear out the monsters topside while I try to get my population up and figure out where I want to build at when it's clear (I usually play on a mixed map so I have access to jungle, snow, and grass). Right now I'm basing at -2 below an area where there's snow, jungle, and grassland.

I think if people repopulate..or get married, then their should be certain problems like say those 2 citizens wont work because they must raise it and the child has to grow, like uhh the child wont be able to do as much work like maybe only farming or cooking? but uhh yeah and then of course just other small penalties like such just because if they reproduce like bunnies it could be a problem

And uhh froggies, there is a simple way to clear out mobs, baits surrounded by traps, or filling passage ways in your caves with patrol points or traps to hold off mobs, and uhh even creating a maze with doors in the case of dungeons where you can controll the flow and maybe even colonate the jungle to try and stop froggies early on...
