higher level zones

can I put a zone on a higher floor? My building has light wood walls and light wood blocks as the floor and I cant seem to put down a zone.

you have to have the minimun required size for the zone desired (3x3 for most) and you have to be on the level above the floor. For instance if you have the 2nd story on lvl 3 you have to be on lvl 4 to place it. If you're on the same lvl as the floor the game thinks you're trying to put a zone inside of the floor when it actually goes ontop of it.

I am not sure can you do it with every wall. The small (the ones that are not blocks) version maybe dont work, need to test it.

You can. Just made a 3x3 platform with the thin, vertical log walls and put a carpentry zone on it.
