Farming Guide
With all the quirks of v9 and farming I have attempted to put together a getting started guide for farming, if any of you have ideas or things I've missed that have worked for you please let me know - posted in the guides section.

I have a question... I set up like 8 chicken and 6 pig farms, I have 12 civvies, and it seems like all they do now is feed animals, its like shut down the rest of my town.

Anyone have some tips for proper number of farms per civvies?

That's a bit of a tricky question since it depends on what you're using them for. If you're using a chicken farm for the purposes of making omlettes rather than slaughtering them for chicken then a single farm could conceivably be enough for any number of townies.

The best advice I can give on that matter is to just set up your farming with growth in mind and shut down farms when they start to bog down your town. It's also a good idea to order a slaughter when you run into that issue of feeding animals too much.

I like to make an equal number of cow/pig/chicken farms, and just make roasts. Animals are slaughtered as soon as they spawn, so there are never animals to feed. This might mean animals fromt he wild are slaughtered if the farms get out of sink, I think that is something that happened in the last upgrade...
