You can also build graves under the Outdoor Decorative Items menu if you have stone mined and get a happiness boost when your townies idle or produce near them which will encourage further immigrants...however if you've having a ghost spawn attack it may be wiser to delete them since your townies will wade into the deluge of undead to try to pick them up and that could cause more havoc.
If you're playing at game speed 3, you may want to pause (space key or the pause/play toggle icon near your compass) while you find the corpses/remains so that you can delete them.
Hope that helps. :)
So glad that worked out for you! :) Have fun.
Well, until the developers have implemented proper mechanics to deal with situations like this, IMO it's probably for the better that they stay in the game.
Well obviously that mechanic should stay as long as there is no proper mechanic to replace it. There just really should be a proper mechanic to replace it. As it is now this town seems to rely on god to break down a wall for them, and he's also apparently pretty slow at it.
And that's why you chop small sections of forest at a time preferably while you have no other jobs for your townies to do. That way your entire population is in the same area so if a guardian happens to appear they'll all converge on it and kill it. They were never a problem for me and honestly i've always thought that if their purpose was to discourage clear-cutting then they're a pretty terrible failure in that purpose. Sometimes I cut far more wood than I needed to just to ensure i'd have plenty of people there if a guardian showed up.
You just need to make sure that you start a tree farm fairly early so you no longer have to worry about guardians and you can automate the gathering of wood.
